Teresa Riemann - Deutschland

Teresa Riemann  - Deutschland
riemannteresa@gmail.com
unterholzwortfetzen.blogsport.de

Teresa Riemann was born in 1988 in Dachau, Germany.
Sprung from the dark caves of the collective german subconsciousness, forging an outlet via the Berlin Noise scene, Berlin based musician, writer and performance-artist Teresa Riemann explores, through her creative output, the darkness and even more-so the light, which can be found in the spaces we like to keep locked up far away from where anybody can see them.
Playing drums, guitar and piano, Teresa Riemann is also a skilled vocalist. Her provocative and sometimes brutally unflinching exploration of all sides of life might make you sick, but in the process you will be coughing up the poison; you will feel better afterwards.
Being attracted by every attempt to break existing laws about "how to do this right"  this curious mind always seeks the full, uncensored expression, seeks to be free in every second and challenges the consciousness of the audience instead of reproducing patterns that have been acknowledged and lost a lot of their primary energy. Time can never be poured into concrete, nor life.
She perceives her performances as explicitly political. In her eyes, unpolitical art is just the numb affirmation of the existing and in no cogitable way neutrality. Therefore, every examination on the stage is necessarily a political one.
Since 2011 she has been organizing and staging numerous concerts, readings and performances in off-spaces from Poland to Tunisia.

Every dogma is a coma.

Statement

Around the name NON GRATA, there have been different hushes and shushes for a long time. Already from the point of view of the death of conventionalization of art it has embodied the horrible and unwanted disembodiment of the human person, from which the meaninglessness of nowadays art, is pouring out. For those, whose world of arts starts from the point, where the art world ends, NON GRATA has been a liberator, the orphic gap in the seemingly unalterable course, which however betrays us, it is a cure from incest. The main point of the group is ethical — it is the image of primitivism, impersonality and experimental creativity. The performances of the group take place according to the logic of avoiding codes. The presentations are physical texts, whose ways of orthography and reading are kept within limits of real actions by the group members. Aesthetical and provocative challenges are represented in places where the Art World doesn't work.

Anonymous Boh (Estonia)

Through non-stop world tours, performances, exhibitions, and publications, Anonymous Boh has created one of the most representative, significant, timely and transformative art movements in all of history. As Ring Master, Boh has become the Wild Bill Hickok, the P.T. Barnum, the Alfred Jarry, the Tristan Tzara, the Ezra Pound, the Orson Welles of our Era. We have entered The Apocalypse, The Storm. Boh, implementing all The Arts via NON GRATA’S Diverse Universe global performances, reveals to us not only where we presently stand in The Storm but he also conjures visions of our soon to be realised post-apocalyptic absurdly playfully tormented kaleidoscopic landscapes.

Devil Girl (Estonia)

An Estonian performance, installation and new media artist, Taje was trained at the alternative art institution Academia Non Grata in Estonia, as well as the Fine Arts Academies of Helsinki and Tallinn and Universität der Künste in Berlin. Since 1998, she is one of the main engines of International Non Grata Performance Group. As Devil Girl, this femme fatale has been seen on underground scenes worldwide, wild and anonymous. MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Annabelle, artistically known as ellebannA was born on Ibiza into a creative and open minded environment. Studied costume design and construction for theatre in the UK. With an intense love for fantasy and passion for both costume & performance, the combination led her to creating her own world of Costume Performance. Its the costume that becomes the performance, and its the performance that counts on the costume.

QUANTUM is ellebannAs most recent production which in fact was shown publicly for the first time when participating and hosting Gallery SoToDo 17th congress in Ibiza 2015. Since then QUANTUM quickly became internationally recognised performing in theatres, parties, private events and festivals. In 2016/17 QUANTUM was part of two award winning parties on Ibiza, Acid Sunday and WOOMOON. Recently QUANTUM has traveled to Fusion festival in Germany, BooM festival in Portugal, Clokenflap in Hong Kong, Subsonic in Australia, SoulVision in Brazil and the inspiring Tribal Gathering of Panama. Not only is QUANTUM blowing people’s minds at festivals and parties, it is also highly valued as an art installation/performance within formal exhibitions, as well as for VISUAL meditation exercises.

Fear is a state of mind, it is not real
manipulated truths, life becomes surreal,
whats the big deal?

Less is more & more is Less
Slow down your pace & free your stress,
it is worthless.

Fearless defenders of Freedom
 Share your Ancestors Wisdom,
heal them.

We are still all connected nonetheless
A platform to unite & free to express,
we are fearless.

“The Field of Freedom is Shrinking and Freedom Needs a Field” – Paul Virillo

The Open Space Performunion was founded by Michael Steger in 2005 in response to an invitation to tour as a performance group with NON GRATA’s Diverse Universe Festival. A steadfast ensemble had already been creating performance events together within the circles of Open Space, which was founded in 1998 with the aim of collectively transforming any time and space—public space, museum, commercial space, street corners, subway, or theater space—into a real-time live art happening. The decision to become a performance art collective was an organic response to what already existed in the Open Space artistic community, since we were united by the necessity of expressing ourselves through Performance Art.

The members of this nomadically changing group—Tizo All, Anajara Amarante, Philip Brehse, Lars Crosby, Emily Kuhnke, Amy J. Klement, Dima Peels, Troels Primdahl, Michael Steger—as well as short-term collaborators, international performance artists such as NON GRATA, Kim Baek-ki, Mushimaru Fujieda to name a few, are extremely diverse in their backgrounds, and approaches to performance. That is possibly the essence of what is unique about us and also what keeps our works fresh and unexpected. The Performunion has performed at numerous locations in Berlin and toured extensively abroad at festivals in Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and N.Y.C.
